Ear Piercing!

Sadie wanted to get her ears pierced on her birthday but Kailey had to wait until her 8th birthday to get hers pierced so we told Sadie the same thing. (We don't want to be unfair parents!) Then her cousin Jaden was getting her ears pierced on Good Friday for her 6th birthday. Kailey said "mom Sadie should get hers pierced together with Jaden!" I told her I didn't want to be unfair and let her do it a year earlier than Kailey. Kailey didn't care because she wants to be able to share earings with Sadie so I said OK. We met them at the mall and Sadie was so excited but she had butterflies in her stomach.

In one quick second they were both pierced and she didn't cry at all.

This is Sadie and Jaden with their new holes in their ears!

Family Update

Family update!

Kailey came in third at Provincials. Her team played well thanks to a great coach! More importantly, they had a lot of fun! Kailey is sad that basketball season is over but is looking forward to some summer camps perhaps.

Carson turned the big 12 on March 23! I can't believe I have an "almost teenager"! He had a great time at grade 6 camp last week and didn't even miss his mom for 4 whole nights in a row! I have to say I missed him but I did enjoy how quiet the house was while he was gone.

Sadie turned 7 and had a really fun cupcake birthday party. She planned all the activities herself and boy can she plan a party! She must take after her dad or something :)

Jordan and I are both looking forward to spring finally being here! He can't wait to start playing soccer and I can't wait to start playing in the dirt in the backyard (gardening). It is so nice to finally be able to see the pavement on our street! We haven't seen it since the first part of December!

Darcy is counting the days until golf season starts. Who knows when it will be this year but he is ready to dust off the clubs and head out to the driving range!

My highlight of the week was getting our big blue recycle bin! I am so excited to have a place to store my recycling all week without it being inside my house. Better than that I don't have to make those trips to the community recycling bins in the freezing cold any more and I can recycle so many more items that the community drop offs didn't accept! Yeah for city wide recycling!
