Sometimes I Wonder . . .

So the other day I walk past the dining room and this is what I see!!??
This is Darcy - yes my husband, not my kid! I guess he was wondering what it would be like to play the piano with a bag over his head. He doesn't even know I took these pictures of him because he was so focused on trying to play the piano with a bag over his head. It's not as easy at it looks. I'm just wondering if other people find their husbands doing things like this all by themselves. It wasn't even like any of the kids were around and he was trying to make them laugh. He was just all by himself playing the piano with a bag over his head. Sometimes you just have to wonder . . . what is going inside that bag over his head!

City Finals for Kailey

Friday Kailey's team played in the city finals against Muriel Clayton (from Airdrie). Two minutes into the game one of my best players was out of the game with torn ligaments in her ankle. Poor Kailey! It was killing her not to be able to help her team out with this game. We ended up loosing by 5 points. I have never seen a game where so many balls roll out of the hoop instead of going in. It was unbelievable. The girls played amazing defence and only let Muriel Clayton score 8 points in the whole second half of the game. We just couldn't buy a basket if our life depended on it.

I was really proud of the team. They worked hard and had a great season even if we didn't bring home the banner! Silver it is! Dang we hate to loose but we are always good sports about it.
On another note, a few days before this we went and had an exhibition game against St. Joan of Arc's team (Carson's school). We were tied in over time with about 20 seconds left on the clock. Kailey comes down the court and stops about 4 feet from the 3 point line. We all think she is getting ready to set up a play when out of nowhere she pops the 3 and drains it putting us up by 3 points. The girls were all so excited about this that they forgot to press the other team and so they came back and scored 2 points which still left us winning the game by 1. Way to go Kailey! That shot will go down in history. You should have seen Carson and his friends going crazy on the sidelines when she drained that shot. I wish I would have had my camera because it was hilarious! Carson's friends were teasing him telling him that his sister could shoot better than he could. After the game the coach from St. Joan and the principal came up to Kailey and said "How about we trade Carson in for you!" What a game!

And the Winner is . . . Blue Star!

Jordan and his buddy Grant participated in a cardboard sled race at Mt Norquay (a ski hill near Banff). This event is held every year and our Young Men in our ward love to build their own carboard sleds and see how they stack up to other racers. Grant decided that Jordan and him would have their own sled to race in and so he built the Blue Star with his sister and dad. The first race they ended up tipping over and rolling down the hill. The last race was a free for all where about 20 sleds all raced together. Blue Star came flying out of the gates and started flying past all the other sleds. The fans were going wild (as Jordan and Grant had won the hearts of all the fans being the youngest racers there)! The Blue Star raced past the finish line in first place and didn't even stop at the snow fence at the end of the course. They flew right through the snow fence and kept on going! Good thing they were wearing their dirtbike helmets!

This is Jordan and Grant getting their pictures taken for the newspaper. They got all kinds of media attention after they won the big race! Everybody thought they were so cute! Notice the Young Men from our ward standing behind the little boys hoping to get a piece of the newspaper action with Grant and Jordan.

The fans cheered so loudly when the boys were presented with their award at the end of the night! Oh what a night! On the way home these boys were already planning on building their sled for next year.
