Carson's Graduation

Carson had his Grade 9 Grad this week.  They all dressed up fancy, had a hot breakfast at the school, went to a musical theatre play at Jubilations, had lunch at a fancy french restaurant and then headed to Graduation Mass at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Mr. Brosseau giving Carson his certificate.  Mr. Brosseau is Carson's homeroom teacher, Math and Religion teacher, and Basketball and Flag Football coach.  Not to mention math tutoring sessions between basketball games.  Needless to say they have spent a lot of time together this year and Carson has a deep respect for Mr. Brosseau.  He has taught Carson so much in all areas of his life, mentally, physically, and spiritually.  He is one of Carson's heros.

Devon and Carson together at Mass.

Jaxon is Carson's missionary companion at school.
He joined us half way through the year and is also LDS.  Together these boys have converted the Catholic school to being BYU fans.

The "infamous Oreo" they call themselves.
Albert, Carson, and Kwami have played on every team this year together and have been amazing teammates and really good friends!

It's hard to believe I have a child old enough to go to High School.  Where does the time go?  Carson we are proud of you and the person you have become.  Keep it up . . . you are on the right track to being a successful person in all aspects of your life!  ConGRADulations!

City Champs at McMahon Stadium

Carson's Flag Football team won the City Championship on Monday night.  They got to play the game at McMahon Stadium and boy did they give a good show!

Carson's best friend Albert was our quarterback and he was amazing.
Right on the money most of the time!

Kwami could run the ball like no other!

Carson and Devo (as they call him) were an amazing team on Defence!

Carson made quite a few interceptions . . . .

. . . and ran almost the full length of the field a number of times for touchdowns.

(Carson is not competitive at all :) )

And then there is the Cavalier's #1 fan!  Always there to cheer them on the loudest  . . . JJ!

Of course Jordan found a friend (Coach's son Casey) and they had to
imitate the big boys on the sidelines.

Congratulations to Carson and the Cavalier's for another great season!

Dancin in the Streets

Sadie and her dance troupe danced at the Lilac Festival in Downtown Calgary.  We all went down to cheer her on as she danced in her running shoes on the street.  (A little different than in your jazz shoes on a stage).  The girls had a huge crowd watching and cheering them on.  It was a good day!

New Favourite Sport of the Season - FLAG FOOTBALL

New Favorite Sport for Carson this year is flag football.  (Every sport is his favourite depending on what season we are in.) The Catholic Schools have a Co Ed Flag Football Season and Carson is having an absolute blast playing it.

Carson and his friend Devin are an amazing team on Defence.
In almost every picture I have taken they are both within arms reach of whoever has the ball.

Carson running the ball for a touch down!

An interception and TOUCHDOWN!

Soccer Season Again!

Jordan is always so excited for Soccer Season!  He has another dynamite team this year.  They are undefeated so far this year (I thought we weren't supposed to keep score :))  Of course the parents don't keep score but the kids know exactly what the score is and who scored every goal.  No matter what you do you can't take the competition away from competitive kids.  So far his personal best is 8 goals in one game.

Jordan and his best buddy Grant are quite the team together.  They are really getting the hang of playing as a team and passing the ball to each other.  Between the 2 of them they score about 80% of the goals in each game.  They crack me up and it is so fun to watch them play together.

Genesis Basketball

After going to Edmonton with Kailey and Lethbridge with Sadie, it is off to Spokane with Carson's Genesis basketball team to play in a tournament down there.  I was having a hard time getting my camera to focus in the gym down there so I didn't get a ton of good pictures.  Not to mention I get tired of watching the games from behind a camera.

We had fun staying with Mike and Leslie and their family as well as spending time with Uncle Gary and Aunt Arlene.  We are so thankful to have family to stay with when we travel or we would be broke paying hotel bills!

Party Girl!

Sadie has been busy with her dance troupe dancing all over the place.  They danced in a festival here in Calgary and then we travelled to a festival in Lethbridge.  Her group is very good together and they are always praised for how together they are when they dance.

This is Sadie taking her solo leap across the stage during the "Party Girl" Jazz dance.  It is a really fun sassy song that the girls really get into!  Some of their facial expressions crack me up!

I took some pictures of Sadie in some of her costumes from the last year because I didn't have any pictures of her in them.  We are not allowed to take any type of cameras into the festivals or dance performances which just makes me mad.  We pay all this money for her to dance and we can't even take our own pictures of her on stage.  We have to buy them from the professional photographer!  (Don't get me started on this.)
Beautiful ballerina!  I see a Princess.

Sailor Costume from Little Mermaid performance.

 Sassafrass from Accidentally in Love.

Lyrical costume.

Kailey's VolleyBall

We have had a few busy months travelling all over the place.  Kailey has been playing club volleyball this winter/spring and we took a road trip to Edmonton for a weekend tournament.  The team played a lot of volleyball in 2 days!

Kailey has a real soft touch with the volleyball and became quite a good setter this year.

Kailey's team is called Storm Volleyball and all of her teammates go to school with her so she really enjoys hanging out with her team.  They had a great season and learned a lot!
