Best Pictures of the Summer!

We have a bald eagle that lives just down the lake from our cabin.  One morning while we were pulling the kids skiing we saw it fly down the lake, swoop up and land on the very top of a tree.  I had to get a good picture of this handsome bird and so I did!  They are so neat to look at!

I loved this picture of Carson in the middle of a front flip off the dock.

And of course the flying lesson mastered!  David and Carson planking the lake together!

Boys and Their Tricks

Boys and their tricks!  Jordan has figured out how to do a back flip and now he back flips off of everything.  Here he is in action!

Of course Carson can do it to!

Carson really thinks he can fly. He has been practicing really hard all summer!

Even without his wings he flies like Superman!

Now he is trying to spiral around while he flies.

And now flying Lessons for David.
The Pep talk and the plan . . .

the take off . . .

 and the flying!
Just call them Batman and Robyn!

 "Those Crazy Boys!" says Kailey

Cousins! That's What Summer is All About

We love spending time with cousins and friends at the cabin.
The boys!  Jordan, Weston, Cody, and Carter showing off their muscles!
One day they might actually have some.

Jordan insists he has a 6 pack.  Can you see it?

This summer my cousin Leslie came to visit with her kids.  We had so much fun catching up and watching the kids have so much fun together!

My kids, Leslie's kids, and my niece Lily.  What a cute group rug rats.

Kelly, Ashley and Kailey

Jaden and Sadie just looking cool!

David and Carson looking cool as well!

Carson looking cool - NOT!  Getting ready to go to the Olympics?  In your dreams Carson!

Glow Sticks

Every year the kids look forward to glow stick nights at the cabin.  This is just one big party with music  blaring and kids dancing.  This year they realized that they could use the deer head on the wall of the living room to play "hoop the deer".  Grandma and Grandpa were in bed and they could hear this tap, tap, tap on the wall.  They came out to see what was going on and the deer was covered with glow stick hoops.  We had to laugh.

Another night we were partying down at the fire and the kids were writing words with their glow sticks.  We LOVE the cabin!

What Do We Do in the Summer Time?

We play hard!  Just a few pics of the kids playing this summer!
 Carson skiing

A little archery thanks to new bow and arrows from Grandpa.
 Jaden and Sadie kneeboarding.
 Jordan wakeboarding.
 Sadie wakeboarding.
 Kailey skiing.
The new toy this year was the big paddle board.

 Carson wakeboarding.

A little surfing.  Carson actually got on his knees and rode the wave and then popped up to surfing position.  He is a natural.  We better not ever take him to Hawaii and let him really surf or he will never come home again!
David, Kailey, and Carson just paddling around.

Kailey on the paddle board and then Kailey just swimming around with Mylee.

And Sadie skiing on the big skis.  This little princess of ours didn't want to stop - she was constantly asking if somebody could take her out to ski or wakeboarding.  Who would have thought???

The Pyramid

The pyramid on skiis is a long lived tradition that goes way back.  It seems every generation has to try it more than once.  Even I climbed the pyramid back in the day!  This generation made it look way too easy.  David Hudson, Benson Ehlert, and Carson popped up first try!

The first step is to find a boat strong enough to pull 3 skiers up at once.  This used to be a real challenge back in the day but now it is not a problem!

So they all get up on 2 skis and then the middle guy (Benson) drops a ski and stands on the back of Carson's ski.  Then Benson drops his second ski, hands his rope to Carson and steps up on David's lap.

Then up on the shoulders he goes.  This is the hardest for David as he has to hold on to the rope with one hand as he holds Carson close with his other hand and Benson is putting most of his weight on David at this point.

Carson hands Benson his rope back and then Benson pauses to take a look at the camera and all the fans in the boat before he stands up tall.  He knows he's got this. It is easy from here!  (meanwhile David and Carson are struggling to stay close together under Benson's weight).

A quick wave to all the viewers from the cabins and enjoying the glory for a few moments!

Now the record for the pyramid was set a few years back by 5 guys from my generation. It was a 5 man pyramid (Benson's dad was one of the guys who climbed to the top!)  . . . . So these kids decide they have to try and keep up with the dads!

After many tries they got this close!

And then this is what happened!

Maybe next year kids!
