Back At IT!

We are back at it . . . school, homework, seminary, dance, activities, and lots of
VOLLEYBALL!

The Cavaliers have a pretty strong team this year.  They came in second in our home tournament.
Lost by just a couple of points.

Georgia and Kailey are the captains of this team.

A little back row hitting action from Kailey at the Bishop Carroll tournament.

And then from there we go to watch the Ernest Manning High School Senior boys
battle it out playing some amazing volleyball!
A little jousting action at the net for Carson!

This team is really fun to watch because they get so pumped and excited!
Carson is the only starter that is not a club volleyball player.

He is the setter for the Senior team . . .

. . . and loves having middle hitters that can pound the quick sets!

All the guys are really good at giving their setter props after they get a great set and are able to pound the ball down for a point.

The crowds at the first home game of the season. That's Carson's best friend (brother as they call each other) saying, "Did you see that block?  That was my brother!"

Sean and Carson put up a pretty great  block.  Their timing is perfect and they are right in sync!

Boy we love this game!  It makes us happy!

Even though this pic is a little blurry it says it all!

Winners of their home tournament!

A Little Bit of Summer!

It's a rough life but somebody has to do it!

 JJ turned 9 this summer!

All but one of the Gibb cousins at the cabin.  (Hannah was sleeping)

My Angel

Because of all the crazy flooding that went on in Calgary at the end of June, Sadie's final dance show  was cancelled.  I was so disappointed because she had learned new dances I hadn't seen before and even had a few new costumes that didn't get a chance to see the stage.  We decided to do a little photo shoot with all of her costumes.

A few action shots!

JJ trying to imitate Sadie.  You can see the difference between grace and not so graceful!

This is no easy thing to do!
When Jordan saw this picture he was shocked at high Sadie can
jump and how straight her arms and legs are in the air!

My very own special Angel!

Buckets, Boys and Basketball

While it was flooding in Calgary, and we are talking major disaster flooding, we got to go to Utah for Carson's basketball team.  It was 40 degrees Celsius in Utah and the only way to stay cool was to be in water outside.  It didn't take the boys long to figure out how to stay cool!

All that is required is a few buckets filled with hose water.
And if you want to prevent sunburn you just put the lids on!

peek a boo!!

Nothing better than playing in the sun with cousins.
Carter, Jordan, and Weston

Jordan just loves doing tricks on the trampoline these days.

When the buckets got boring the boys rigged up their own water slides.

Meanwhile Carson was playing in a basketball tournament with his Genesis club team.  They only had 7 players there and they ended up playing 5 games in a 25 hour period.  It was a little crazy but they had fun.  Carson took a terrible fall in the last game where he was going up for a layup and 2 guys took his legs out from under him.  He fell backwards really hard with no hands or anything to help cushion the fall.  The sound of the bang of his head on the floor was just sickening.  I am usually pretty calm and collective when my kids get injured but I have to admit that I jumped out of my seat when his head landed on the floor and he didn't move right away.  He finally came to and the first thing out of his mouth was "Did I make the layup?"  Of course they called the foul but wouldn't let him take his foul shots because he had to be checked out for a concussion.  One of his teammates took the foul shots while the doctors checked Carson.  They wouldn't let him play the rest of that half of the game.

These pictures are not from the tournament in Utah because I forgot to take my camera to the games.  These are a few pics from their league games at SAIT.
Genesis motto is DO WORK!  The emphasize doing work in family, school and on the court.  Carson loves to DO WORK with the Genesis team!
