Win some and lose some!

Kailey played her last basketball game as a Cavalier tonight!  Boy was it a tough one!  They moved up to tier II because they wanted a more challenging play off grid.  She played her heart out on Wednesday night in the semi final to win by about 18 points and now, the City Championship for the second year in a row.

The team started off strong and Kailey scored the first few hoops.
She went to the foul line and made both her shots.  It was looking good for the Cavaliers!

Our team just didn't play like they can and we had way too many turn overs! They found themselves in a desperate situation where they were down by 2 at the end of the game and and just couldn't pull one more shot off to tie it up before the buzzer went and the game was over!

Kailey receiving her silver medal for two years in a row as a Cavalier basketball player (and one the year before that at Springbank).  She hates silvers because you have to lose to get a silver medal.

It was such a tough loss and the girls were not very happy to say the least.  After the team picture Kailey left the gym and wouldn't talk to anybody.  The only person she would get in the car with was Carson and so they left to spend some time together.  Sometimes I wonder why we do this to ourselves.  If we didn't ever compete in anything we would never have to feel that deep sense of a big loss!  Then I have to remind myself that if we didn't compete in anything we would also never feel the great satisfaction of a big victory either.  At the end of the day we win some and we lose some and although losing stings, we pick ourselves up and play some more!  That is what it is all about!
Overall Kailey had a fantastic season and she loved her coaches. She will have some great memories as a Cavalier basketball player.

Merry Christmas 2013!

Merry Christmas from our crazy family to yours!

Did you see that Reindeer Fly?

Oh, it was just Black Jack!

 Christmas PJ's.

Emergency Exit Eh? (We are from Canada Eh?)

Cutest Little Shepard Ever

The kids had the opportunity to be performers in the 50th year celebration of the Nativity pageant at Heritage Park in Calgary.  Even though Jordan wasn't quite old enough to be a performer they allowed him to do it because he made the cutest Shepard ever!

Jordan loved the sheep and would tend to them all night while he performed the nativity over and over and over.  It was cold outside and Jordan didn't have much time between shows to warm up.  He was chilled to the bone by the end of the performance nights but he was a really good sport and did a fantastic job of being the cutest little Shepard!

We also had angels among us this Christmas  Sadie and Kailey were angels in the Nativity performances.  They were as beautiful as ever.  They had the easy job and got to spend most of the evening in the warm building until they popped out for their 30 seconds in the cold to sing and then back inside where it was warm.  They felt bad for Jordan having to be outside the whole performance and they were really good about helping him warm up with hot shots on his ears in between shows.

Kailey's Talent

Kailey has had a secret talent that she hasn't shared with many people and what an amazing talent it is.  There are not many people who have this special talent.  She doesn't like to show people what it is but Carson secretly grabbed this self made video and saved it on the computer where Kailey didn't know it was saved and she couldn't delete it.  Are you ready for some serious action?  Watch and see . . .  .
